This book is truly a unique story that will make you never want to put it down. Nexis was just recently released and I already can't want for the next Trickster Novel.
I just love this book!!! The world that Davroe created feels so real! I finished the book a week ago and I still find myself wondering how the "people" in the book are doing. This is a wonderful story that was written beautifully. I can't wait for the next book!
I loved this! What a new take on the life of "gamers" and our future world. The author lays out her characters like they are in the here and now... but they are in the future. You feel the growth of our main character, Ellani, and you feel her sorrow. I really enjoyed this look into the new world of Nexis and hope, beyond hope, there is more!
I re-read this book before I started on Redux. I think it is even better the second time around. This book really needs more people reading it. Its is so well written and although there are similar stories out there (that have gotten way more promotion) this books kicks their ass. Do yourself a favor and take a chance and read this book. If you are any kind of gamer you will love this. If you like dystopian novels, you will love this. If you like reading at all you will love this book!
I absolutely LOVED this book!!! I'm so thrilled to know it's part of a series and I will be anxiously awaiting the release of the second book, and while I wait - I'll just re-read this a few more times. Seriously - the character development and the way things are described, my mind's eye had no trouble at all vividly imagining the scenes as they unfolding before me while I read. I stayed up to 4am reading because I just didn't want to put it down, there are so many twists and turns that you don't see coming, it's awesome and you simply want to keep reading. You'll easily become attached to the main character, Ellani - and you'll definitely be interested in her life in and out of the game, Nexis. ;)

What a captivating story and it did have some minor similarities to the Hunger Games series and also Virtual Arcana books whereby the main character immerses themselves in a game and the outcome is not what you expect. There were a few lessons to be learned in this story and that beauty is only skin deep and it did lag a bit in the middle but it picked up towards the end. Ella was not your typical pretty cheerleader type or kick ass heroine and she seemed very real and likable with all her faults and her disability did not deter her from her chosen path. Some twists were unexpected which I found refreshing as I tend to read a lot so this book was a nice surprise. I was a bit confused towards the end much like the main character concerning who her love interest really was but I am sure that was just to keep us guessing. Hopefully the next book will clear up that and many other secrets that have still not been revealed.
I liked this book. To be honest, I initially thought the story was too typical a YA dystopian until the ending, which blew me away and had me craving the next book; and Redux made me appreciate Nexis even more, standout as a different kind of book. I keep thinking about it, and want to reread it. So even if you are ambivalent about Nexis, I still would recommend reading the sequel.

It is an imaginative sci-fi novel the world is interesting and the game intriguing. There are twists in the plot that I did not see coming - and even though the blurb mentioned an accident and physical limitations, it still completely took me by surprise when it happened. I enjoyed the slower pacing of the novel, especially the true worldbuilding of the game, Nexis. Ella's character growth was especially done very well, very believable. I also enjoyed the hints of the Cinderella theme (and according to the author, this apparently was written before Cinder was published).

I'll admit, my favorite character was Meems )

I personally don't feel like Nexis and Redux are too YA and fine for an adult (and not as much for adolescents).
