This is part of a series of tales set in the far future. The universe is populated by humans and muliple races of aliens, some friendly, some not, and some who will always act in their own interests. I find it hard to put this story aside until I've read them all, as the storytelling is excellent. The universe and characters are engaging as well, however there could be a bit more emotional weight given to some of the characters and the book endings can be abrupt, sometimes. I look forward to more stories by the author.Product details

The Celeran Probe is a worthy addition to the PIT series. Although I would certainly recommend trying out some of his other books (The Created, or the more nightmarish Force Cantrithor) you can't go wrong with this sequel either.
Wonderful series!!! Couldn't put it down
I read on. This is a good story and is keeping me up late. I tend to read slowly and don't read every night.
I recommend this series to sci-fi readers.
I like the story line.
The PIT novels are quite a treat. Past books in the series were well written as is this one but I noticed a few grammar errors throughout the book.
The story is engaging and can be read stand alone although I highly recommend reading the series from book 1 to fully understand the over arching storyline.
I'm sorry I didn't review this sooner, as now I am unable to comment specifically on this book. I'm on part 12, and it keeps me up too late at night.
Have a crewmember betray the rest of the group? Add some new characters and remove some others? This would be a recipe for doom in most series but here i found i really was enjoying the ongoing story even (maybe because of) with the characters substantial personality changes as they grow and adapt to what has happened. Having said that though, I was a bit disappointed if only because this seems like a stepping stone to some larger story and i wanted a bit more of a typical story arc in addition to the strong character development this book had. At any rate, i look forward to the next one in the series!
